This app, ASolver, solves various Rubik's Cubes and other puzzles using your phone's camera. Simply take a picture of your puzzle, and ASolver will guide you through the solution steps in minutes.
ASolver supports a wide range of puzzles, including the classic 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube (and variations like the Magic Cube and Speed Cube), 2x2x2 Pocket Cube, 4x4x4 Rubik's Revenge, 5x5x5 Professor's Cube, 6x6x6 V-Cube 6, Pyraminx, Megaminx, Rubik's Void Cube, Skewb, 1x2x3 Puzzle 123, 2x3x3 Domino, Ivy Cube, Kilominx (with and without centers), Dino Cube, and 2x2x3 Tower. More puzzles are being added regularly.
If the camera fails to recognize the puzzle (due to poor lighting or glare), you can manually input the puzzle configuration. For simpler puzzles, ASolver provides optimal solutions with the fewest moves. For more complex puzzles like the 3x3x3, the solution is near-optimal. While optimal solutions for larger puzzles (4x4x4, 5x5x5, Megaminx, Kilominx) are unknown, ASolver provides efficient solutions. Average move counts for well-scrambled puzzles include: 4x4x4 (48 moves), 5x5x5 (83 moves), Kilominx with centers (35 moves), and Kilominx without centers (33 moves).
A unique feature is ASolver's ability to detect and fix puzzles that have been incorrectly reassembled. These unsolvable puzzles can be corrected using ASolver.
The app offers two solution methods: step-by-step instructions via an interactive model or a list of moves.
