Durak comes in two primary variants: "Flip Fool" (Durak Podkidnoy) and "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy). While the core objective remains the same—to be the first to get rid of all your cards and avoid being the last "fool"—each version offers unique gameplay mechanics.
In "Flip Fool" (Durak Podkidnoy), the classic version, if the attacker cannot continue to attack, the next player to the left of the defender may throw one card. This continues in a clockwise direction, allowing all players to participate in throwing cards, but only one at a time. This is why it's known as "Flip Fool."
"Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy) adds an exciting twist. From the second move onward, the defender can "transfer" a card by placing a card of the same rank but a different suit on the table. This shifts the attack to the next player in a clockwise direction, who can also choose to transfer the card. This dynamic adds a strategic layer to the game, hence the name "Transferable Fool."
