Hideo Kojima subió al escenario en SXSW 2025 en Austin, TX, para presentar un nuevo y emocionante trailer para Death Stranding 2: On the Beach y anunciar su fecha de lanzamiento.

Death Stranding 2 se lanzará el 26 de junio de 2025, exclusivamente para PlayStation 5. Sin embargo, los fanáticos que optan por la edición digital Deluxe o la edición del coleccionista disfrutarán de acceso temprano a partir del 24 de junio.

El trailer, que abarca 10 minutos, muestra una mezcla de secuencias cinematográficas y imágenes de juego. Lo más destacado del trailer es la introducción de un personaje llamado Neil, interpretado por el actor italiano Luca Marinelli. Neil, quien tiene un parecido sorprendente con la serpiente de la reconocida serie de Gear Metal Gear de Kojima, se ve poniéndose un pañuelo y liderando a un grupo de soldados misteriosos. Este personaje ejerce un rifle de asalto, que se suma a la intriga que rodea su papel en el juego.

El trailer también presenta al hombre Magellan, una criatura masiva en forma de alquitrán integrada con el DHV Magellan, que recuerda a Metal Gear Rex. Esta criatura, que puede operarse como un mech desde el borde del Pacífico , batalla contra monstruos alquitrales gigantescos e inquietantes. Una estatua de 15 "del hombre Magellan está incluida en la edición del coleccionista, que se suma a su encanto.
