La nueva versión de James Gunn del universo DC presenta una nueva versión de Superman, y junto a él, Nathan Fillion entra en el papel de Green Lantern, específicamente Guy Gardner. En una entrevista sincera con TV Guide, Fillion reveló que su interpretación de Gardner divergirá significativamente de las iteraciones anteriores del personaje. "¡Es un imbécil!" Fillion exclamó, enfatizando que ser una linterna verde no requiere bondad, sino más bien valentía. "Entonces Guy Gardner no tiene miedo, y no es muy bueno.
