I wasn’t planning to buy more Pokémon cards this week, but then I saw that the Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks Booster Bundle was still in stock on Amazon for $45.02 following its massive Pokémon TCG restock. The timing couldn't be better, with the Amazon Spring Sale in full swing, making it the perfect opportunity to grab some of the hottest sets before they're gone. My willpower crumbled faster than a 60 HP Basic facing a 390-damage Hydreigon ex.

This Surging Sparks set is pure chaos in the best possible way. It's packed with chase cards that are worthy of being slabbed, like the $432 Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare. No, that's not a typo. Pikachu is not only a highly sought-after collectible but also a formidable force on the battlefield. Its Topaz Bolt can clear the board of almost any opponent, while Resolute Heart makes it incredibly difficult to knock out.

Then there’s the Latias ex and Latios combo, pulling a full-on romance movie moment with their matching connected artwork. Latias, being the rarer and more expensive twin at over $200, seems to carry that big sibling energy. Meanwhile, Milotic ex is out here channeling its inner supermodel with dramatic light and shadow effects, while also effectively countering Tera Pokémon, making it a standout meta card.

My personal favorite has to be Ceruledge. It's giving off neon fever dreams, and I mean that in the best way possible. This is the first time its card has been truly valuable, and I believe illustrator Rond deserves a standing ovation. Ceruledge may not be a top-tier competitor, but with this art, I couldn't care less.

If you're a collector, the value potential is undeniable. If you're a player, some of these cards are incredibly effective on the battlefield. And if you just enjoy shiny things and the thrill of spending $45 on cardboard, welcome to the club. I've already opened one box, and I'm convincing myself I "need" another for research purposes.

The bundle includes six booster packs, so there's no guarantee you'll pull any heavy hitters, but given how quickly these are selling out, it's wise not to wait too long. After all, Pikachu isn't going to pull itself.
