Applin and Dynamax Entei to Debut in Pokémon Go This Month

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 23,2025

Two exciting events are set to bring a mix of sweetness and fire to Pokémon Go this month. From April 24th to 29th, the Sweet Discoveries event introduces the adorable Dragon/Grass-type Applin from the Galar region. To evolve Applin, you'll need 200 Applin Candy and either 20 Sweet Apples for Appletun or 20 Tart Apples for Flapple. These apples can be found scattered in the wild, particularly around Mossy Lures, which might also trigger Applin encounters.

During Sweet Discoveries, the wild will be bustling with Bounsweet, Skwovet, and Delibird. You can also encounter themed Pokémon like Munchlax and Cherubi through Field Research and Eggs. Timed Research offers both free and paid tracks, with the latter providing extra Mossy Lure Modules and additional Applin encounters. Don't miss out on the Applin Headband and Apron available in the shop, and keep an eye on PokéStop Showcases for themed Pokémon.

For those who prefer power over cuteness, mark your calendars for April 26th-27th, when the Max Battle Weekend introduces Dynamax Entei. This fiery event might even give you a chance to encounter a Shiny Entei. To prepare, take advantage of the bonuses, including an increased Max Particle cap, reduced adventuring distance to collect them, and boosted Power Spot refresh rates. You'll earn eight times more Max Particles from each Power Spot you visit. Leading up to the event, free Timed Research starts on April 21st, rewarding you with a Dynamax Sobble to help counter Entei's heat.
