ARK: Survival Ascended Unveils 2-Year Roadmap

Summary

  • ARK: Survival Ascended has unveiled an exciting content roadmap extending through late 2026.
  • The remastered version of ARK: Survival Evolved will transition to Unreal Engine 5, featuring new maps over the next two years.
  • The game will introduce multiple new Fantastic Tames and community-voted creatures in the near future.

Studio Wildcard has recently shared an updated content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, outlining nearly two years of anticipated updates. The remaster of the popular survival crafting game, ARK: Survival Evolved, initially launched in early access in late November 2023. Since then, Studio Wildcard has consistently rolled out regular content updates.

On January 11, the developer from Redmond, Washington, released an updated roadmap for the game, which spans until late 2026. The first item on this detailed agenda is not a content update but a crucial technical patch. This patch will transition ARK: Survival Ascended to Unreal Engine 5.5, promising significant performance enhancements. Concurrently, the developer plans to reintroduce support for Nvidia's frame generation, which had been removed in the latter half of 2024 due to engine-related issues.

The UE5 update will further Studio Wildcard's ongoing efforts to restructure the game's data, allowing players to download ARK: Survival Ascended DLC packs individually. This selective approach to map delivery aims to manage the game's install size more effectively. In April 2025, new content will include a Fantastic Tame and a free Bison creature.

A new ARK: Survival Ascended map is set to debut in June 2025 as paid DLC. Details about this map are expected to be revealed in early spring. Following this, another Fantastic Tame and a community-voted free creature will join the game in August 2025.

In 2026, Studio Wildcard will focus on remastering ARK: Survival Evolved's Genesis expansions. Genesis: Part 1 will be released in April 2026, followed by Part 2 in August 2026. Both parts will launch alongside segments of Bob's True Tales, a previously announced content drop included in the game's season pass. A remastered version of the Fjordur map is slated for a free update in December 2026. Additionally, three more Fantastic Tames will be introduced throughout 2026.

While the roadmap provides a comprehensive overview, Studio Wildcard may have smaller surprises planned for the next two years, adding to the excitement and anticipation for ARK: Survival Ascended's future updates.
