Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

Bandai Namco is taking another exciting step into the mobile gaming arena with Digimon Alysion, a digital adaptation of the beloved Digimon Card Game. This free-to-play title is set to launch on both Android and iOS platforms, though an exact release date remains under wraps.

The game made its grand announcement at Digimon Con 2025 on March 19th. The event was packed with exciting news, including the continuation of Digimon Liberator with a fresh arc slated for April 2025. Additionally, Bandai Namco celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime with a special video and unveiled a new project, Digimon Adventure: Beyond. Fans also got a sneak peek at an upcoming RPG, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, designed for consoles and PC.

Digimon Alysion: Not Just Another Card Game

Digimon Alysion isn't merely a digital clone of the physical Digimon Card Game. It introduces innovative 'DigiAly' cards alongside the classic cards, tailored specifically for this mobile version. Bandai Namco is also bringing in fresh Digimon and characters, adding a unique twist to the game.

The character lineup featured on the website leans heavily towards an all-female cast, which is an interesting choice for a digital card game. This direction has sparked some skepticism among fans, particularly those who were hoping for a more faithful representation of the physical game.

This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into Digimon mobile gaming. Their previous attempts have met with mixed results, causing some fans to approach Digimon Alysion with cautious optimism. Despite this, the game has piqued my interest, and a closed beta test is reportedly in the works, though specifics are yet to be disclosed.
