Bug Out Event in Pokemon GO: Dates, Featured Pokemon, Bonuses

March is buzzing with excitement in *Pokemon GO* as we celebrate the seasonal shift with a spectacular Bug Out event focused on bug-type Pokemon. This event offers numerous opportunities to catch these fascinating critters, alongside enticing bonuses and fresh avatar items to enhance your gaming experience.

Event Details

When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* kicks off on March 26 at 10 AM local time and runs until 8 PM local time on March 30. This five-day extravaganza is perfect for collecting those bug-type Pokemon that would make Misty scamper away in fright. It's also an excellent time for Shiny hunting, as nearly every featured Pokemon has a Shiny variant in *Pokemon GO*.

Featured Wild Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

According to the official page, you'll encounter the following bug-type Pokemon more frequently in the wild during the Bug Out event:

  • Caterpie
  • Weedle
  • Wurmple
  • Nincada
  • Venipede
  • Dwebble
  • Joltik
  • Grubbin
  • Dewpider
  • Nymble
  • Cutiefly (Shiny Potential)

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event

Two new Pokemon will make their debut in *Pokemon GO* during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. Evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch using 50 Sizzlipede Candy.

Featured Raid Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

The *Pokemon GO* Bug Out event will be packed with raids at gyms, featuring the following Pokemon. Those marked with an asterisk can be Shiny:

One-Star Raids

  • Scyther*
  • Nincada*
  • Sizzlipede

Three-Star Raids

  • Beedrill*
  • Scizor*
  • Kleavor*

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses

Trainers can enjoy the following bonuses throughout the Bug Out event:

  • Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
  • More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
  • Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
  • Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
  • Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.

Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research

By spinning PokeStops, you can obtain event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can earn you Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's Pokemon.

Timed Research rewards include a Lure Module and encounters with the event's Pokemon. For those opting for the Paid Timed Research, you'll receive a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with the event's Pokemon. Make sure to complete both types of research and claim the rewards before the event concludes.

Pokemon GO Bug Avatar Items

Starting with the Bug Out event, new bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop, including:

  • Sizzlipede Boots
  • Scolipede Jacket

Pokemon GO Bug Out Collection Challenges

The Bug Out event will feature Collection Challenges centered around event-themed Pokemon, offering rewards such as Stardust, XP, and encounters with these Pokemon.
