Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Is Half Price at Amazon and Best Buy Today

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Launched just last year, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 quickly became the top-selling game in November in the U.S. by dollar sales. That’s a strong debut, isn’t it?

If you're still considering picking up the new title, it’s currently priced at just $35 on Amazon and Best Buy—offering a 50% discount—but only for one day. This deal applies to the PS5, PS4, and Xbox versions, and it’s already available at a steep price reduction just a few months after release.

Act fast if you want to grab it—this limited-time offer expires by the end of the day on January 9, 2026.

So what’s going on? Why is one of the year’s biggest-selling titles already marked down so heavily? The answer isn’t hard to find—Black Ops 7 isn’t performing as strongly as last year’s Black Ops 6.

This trend is evident across critical reviews, fan reactions, European sales data, and even in statements from Activision itself.

Typically, a new Call of Duty title dominates the annual best-seller list. But this year, it’s looking increasingly likely that Battlefield 6 will claim the top spot in the U.S. instead.

While not entirely unheard of—Hogwarts Legacy beat Modern Warfare 3 in 2023, even without MW3 launching on Game Pass—Call of Duty has always bounced back quickly. In 2024, it returned to form, and prior to that, only major Rockstar titles like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 had managed to displace it from the yearly top spot, dating back as far as Rock Band in 2008.

With that history in mind, it’s not surprising that Activision is reportedly reevaluating its yearly release strategy for Call of Duty, nor that it’s already using heavy discounts shortly after launching one of its most anticipated titles.
