Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Update 1

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 21,2025

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing exciting quests that encourage players to compete for the fastest clear times. However, Capcom is taking a firm stance against cheating to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all players. In a recent post on their official X/Twitter account, Capcom issued a clear warning: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests."

Capcom also highlighted that players engaging in multiplayer hunts with cheaters could face consequences. If a quest is completed with the help of cheating, it may result in an invalid completion time and the revocation of rewards for all party members. Capcom advises players to be cautious and avoid playing multiplayer with those suspected of cheating, urging them to report any fraudulent activity they encounter. "Please take caution to avoid playing multiplayer with those who are engaging in prohibited activity, or those you suspect of such," the company stated.

The new quests will offer appealing rewards, including cosmetic pendants. Some rewards will be available to all participants, while others depend on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. Given the potential impact on rewards and completion times, Capcom's crackdown on cheaters is understandable and necessary.

These Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja, introduced with Title Update 1. To access this, players must first complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub. Be sure to head there as soon as Title Update 1 goes live tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
