While many *Monster Hunter Wilds* achievements focus on epic hunts, one celebrates the smallest creatures. This guide helps you unlock the elusive "I Caught a Shooting Star" trophy/achievement.

This hidden trophy requires capturing the Sandstar, a tiny desert mouse-like endemic life found only at night in the Windward Plains. Its shimmering fur makes it easily missed if you're not looking for it.

Since the Windward Plains are often explored during the day, you'll need to reach nighttime. Two methods work:

  • Fast Travel: Repeatedly fast travel between Windward Plains locations to advance time until nightfall. This is available early in the game.
  • Resting: After completing Chapter 3, use Guild Points to rest at a camp and select nighttime.

The Sandstar is small and fast, even for your Seikret. Consider gathering Screamer Pods from Baunos (winged monsters in Areas 11 and 13) beforehand. These stun the Sandstar, making capture easier.

At nightfall, search the area between Areas 11 and 13. When you spot the Sandstar, chase it, use a Screamer Pod to stun it, and quickly deploy your Capture Net (used for fishing). The "I Caught a Shooting Star!" trophy/achievement and the "Ribbon Dream: Amber" nameplate will unlock immediately.

This concludes the guide to obtaining the "I Caught a Shooting Star" trophy/achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Check out our other guides, including how to skip cutscenes!
