Rebel Wolves studio has unveiled details about their upcoming vampire RPG, highlighting the game's central feature: the protagonist's duality. Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz describes the character as a video game interpretation of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, a concept largely unexplored in the gaming world. This duality, he believes, will offer a unique and surreal gaming experience.

A key element of this duality is the character's periods of ordinary, powerless humanity, contrasting sharply with their vampiric abilities. This design choice, however, requires careful consideration. Many RPG mechanics are so ingrained in player expectations that their absence could lead to confusion.

Tomaszkiewicz acknowledges the inherent tension in RPG development between utilizing established mechanics and innovating. He points to the mixed reception of Kingdom Come: Deliverance's schnapps-dependent save system as an example of how even seemingly minor deviations from established norms can spark significant player debate. The team is carefully navigating this balance between innovation and player expectations.
