Author:Kristen Update:Apr 13,2025

Following the exciting announcement of their new game Project C4, ZA/UM has revealed plans for an official mobile version of the critically acclaimed game Disco Elysium. This mobile adaptation, which will be exclusively available on Android devices, aims to introduce the immersive world of Disco Elysium to new audiences while providing a convenient, on-the-go option for existing fans. The first two chapters of the game will be available for free, allowing players to dive into the experience before making a one-time payment to unlock the full, ad-free game.

ZA/UM emphasized their commitment to ensuring players can make informed purchasing decisions. “Today’s ZA/UM studio is comprised of both creators and custodians of the Disco Elysium IP. We take both of those roles very seriously and we believe that is evident in the Disco Elysium mobile experience we are creating,” they stated. This approach highlights their dedication to maintaining the quality and integrity of the game across different platforms.

Studio head Denis Havel expressed ambitions to appeal to a broader audience, specifically targeting the TikTok demographic. “We intend to captivate the TikTok user with quick hits of compelling story, art, and audio, ultimately creating an all new, deeply engaging form of entertainment,” Havel said. This strategy underscores ZA/UM's innovative approach to reaching new players through modern social media platforms.

Alongside the announcement, ZA/UM released a debut trailer and screenshots for Disco Elysium on mobile. The game features new, 360-degree scenes designed to immerse mobile users directly into the world of Revachol, complemented by brand new audio with full voiceover to enhance the storytelling and character development.

Here’s the official description of the mobile version:

This is a total re-imagination of the award-winning, gripping psychological RPG Disco Elysium, designed to cater completely to the habits of today’s mobile users. This story-rich adventure has been optimized for short play sessions, allowing players to dive in anytime, anyplace on their mobile devices.

Narrative Lead Chris Priestman praised the mobile adaptation, describing it as “what audiobooks wish they were,” and emphasized its design for short, engaging bursts of gameplay.

Disco Elysium is set to launch on mobile via Google Android in the summer of 2025. It's important to note that while the studio retains the same name, many key contributors to the original Disco Elysium have since left ZA/UM. Some of these former members are now involved in creating spiritual successors to the game.
