Dragon Quest X Mobile Launch: Japan Only

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 14,2025

Long-time fans of the *Dragon Quest* series are in for a treat! *Dragon Quest X Offline*, a single-player version of the popular MMORPG, is launching tomorrow on iOS and Android in Japan. This marks a significant mobile debut for a title previously unavailable outside of Japan's online realm.

Japanese players can purchase *Dragon Quest X Offline* for a discounted price, enjoying the full experience offline. This release follows the 2022 console and PC launch of the offline version, offering a more accessible entry point for those unfamiliar with the original 2012 online release. Interestingly, a mobile adaptation was initially planned by Ubitu back in 2013, though this never materialized.

Unlike other *Dragon Quest* games, *Dragon Quest X* features real-time combat and other MMORPG elements, a departure from the series' usual style. The offline version retains these features while providing a standalone experience.

Here be dragons

Unfortunately, there's currently no news regarding a global release of *Dragon Quest X Offline* for mobile. While the original game was Japan-exclusive, the possibility of an international launch for the offline version remains open, but it's not confirmed.

For dedicated *Dragon Quest* fans, this mobile release is exciting news, particularly given the game's unique MMORPG elements. The opportunity to experience this version on the go is certainly appealing.
