The Evil Genius series may get a new game

Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley hasn't ruled out Evil Genius 3, but isn't making any promises just yet. The franchise is close to his heart, and he's carefully considering how to elevate it for a potential future installment.

Kingsley notes that the world domination theme isn't limited to base-building simulators; other strategic formats could offer exciting new avenues. While specifics remain under discussion, the development team is actively brainstorming fresh ideas to revitalize the franchise.

Released in 2021, Evil Genius 2 received a "mostly positive" Metacritic score from critics. However, player reception was more mixed. Despite graphical improvements and attempts to address past criticisms, the sequel fell short of the original in many players' eyes. Common complaints included the global map, minion and structure degradation, and various other gameplay aspects.
