Author:Kristen Update:Mar 26,2025

Attention, all Sim enthusiasts: brace yourselves because the notorious Burglar is making a grand return to The Sims 4 in the latest update. Yes, the iconic Robin Banks is back, ready to sneak into your virtual homes and swipe your valuables. This update, available on both PC and consoles, brings a thrilling twist to your gameplay as you'll need to be extra vigilant at night. While Robin typically targets homes when everyone is asleep, she's not above attempting a bold heist even when your Sims are awake. So, keep your eyes peeled!

To fend off this crafty thief, your Sims can equip their homes with a burglar alarm. Should Robin trigger it, rest assured, the police will arrive promptly to catch her and return your stolen items. But don't worry if you don't have an alarm; a swift call to the police can still save the day. And for those who prefer a more hands-on approach, taking justice into your own Sims' hands is always an option.

While burglar encounters are relatively rare by default, thrill-seekers can increase their chances of a heist by enabling the Lot Challenge Heist Havoc. This feature is perfect for those who crave a bit of chaos in their gameplay.

The Sims team shared their excitement about reintroducing the Burglar, stating, "We are so thrilled to finally bring the Burglar back into The Sims universe. Sending a special shout out to our full team for making this a reality. Robin Banks isn’t just ready to rob your Sims’ houses — she’s here to steal your hearts too! What better way to celebrate The Sims 25th Birthday than with this nostalgic yet fresh addition? We hope you’re as excited as we are to see what kind of chaos Robin Banks will bring to your households."

Despite The Sims 4 being 10 years old and the series celebrating its 25th anniversary, the game continues to attract new players. Last year alone, it welcomed over 15 million new players. According to EA's Q2 earning report from late last year, The Sims 4 reached 20 million unique players within four years of its release as a premium game. The shift to a free-to-play model in 2022 saw an explosive growth, with an additional 31 million players joining in, bringing the total to 85 million by May 2024. And for those eagerly awaiting news on The Sims 5, there are currently no plans in the works… Plum!
