How to Make Fever Tonic in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Hans's main quest, "For Whom the Bell Tolls," requires crafting a Fever Tonic to aid Thomas. This guide details how to obtain the recipe and brew the tonic.

Acquiring the Fever Tonic Recipe:

There are two methods to access the Surgeon's Workshop in Trosky Castle, where the recipe resides:

1. Stealth: Sneak into the workshop.

2. Diplomacy: Convince the chamberlain you can create a digestive potion for his stomach ailment. Success requires passing skill checks. If you fail, you'll need to steal food, give it to a guard to distract him, and then sneak into the kitchen via another route.

Alternatively, after delivering the horseshoe in "For Whom the Bell Tolls," speak with Cook Fanka. Assisting her with a locked chest grants access to the noble's kitchen, where the ailing chamberlain can be found. Successfully convincing him to allow access to the Surgeon's Workshop will lead you to the recipe.

Once inside the workshop, locate the physician's journal on the bookshelf. The Fever Tonic recipe is within.

Brewing the Fever Tonic:

The necessary herbs are already present on the surgeon's station. Follow these steps, using the Fever Tonic recipe from the journal:

1. Pour wine into the cauldron.
2. Add 3 handfuls of Feverfew.
3. Lower the cauldron and boil for 2 turns of the sandglass.
4. Grind a handful of Elderberry Leaves with the mortar and pestle.
5. Add the ground Elderberry Leaves.
6. Add 2 handfuls of Ginger.
7. Obtain a phial from the bottom left shelf.
8. Distill the tonic using the Still.

Don't worry about failures; there are ample herbs available.

Completing the Quest:

After brewing the Fever Tonic, deliver it to Thomas. If you gained the chamberlain's trust by crafting a digestive potion, return to him with both potions. Otherwise, use the kitchen to access the chapel and find Thomas and Adele. Speak with Adele to conclude the quest.
