Finn Jones Acknowledges Iron Fist Critiques, Aims to Prove Doubters Wrong

Charlie Cox's triumphant return as Daredevil from Netflix to the MCU has sparked excitement about the potential for other members of The Defenders to make a comeback. Finn Jones, who portrayed Iron Fist, has expressed his eagerness to reprise his role as Danny Rand, last seen in action in 2018 during Season 2 of the Iron Fist series and in The Defenders. Jones teamed up with fellow Defenders Daredevil/Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) in that series.

Despite Jones' enthusiasm, his portrayal of Iron Fist received mixed feedback from fans, leading to uncertainty about the character's future in the MCU. However, with Daredevil now firmly established in the MCU and recent reports suggesting Marvel is "exploring" the idea of reviving The Defenders, hope remains for a potential return.

At the LaConve anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones addressed the criticism head-on, acknowledging the fans' mixed reactions to his portrayal. He passionately stated, "There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen. There’s a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a f***ing chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."

The integration of the Netflix series into the MCU canon, including shows like Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, has been confirmed with their availability on Disney+.
