Future Marvel Rivals Seasons Will Feature Half the Content of Season 1

Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Launch with the Fantastic Four

Get ready for a massive start to Marvel Rivals! Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasts double the content of a typical season. This expanded offering is a direct result of the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a unified launch event.

This supersized season includes:

  • Three new maps: The Sanctum Sanctorum (available at launch, featuring the new Doom Match mode), Midtown (for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed later).
  • The Fantastic Four: Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) debut with the Season 1 launch. The Thing and Human Torch will join the fray in a mid-season update approximately six to seven weeks later.

The developers emphasized the "double the playable content" aspect in a recent Dev Vision video. While this larger-than-usual season is exciting, NetEase Games hasn't detailed how this will affect the frequency or scope of future updates. For now, the expectation remains that two new heroes or villains will be added per season.

While the absence of Blade from the initial roster disappointed some fans, the sheer volume of content in Season 1, coupled with ongoing speculation surrounding the game, ensures a high level of anticipation for what NetEase Games has in store.
