GOG Resurrects Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 on PC

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 26,2025

GOG resurrects the cult classic survival horror games, Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, bringing them to PC in DRM-free releases. Both titles, originally released on PlayStation, are now available via GOG's Preservation Program, ensuring their original content remains intact.

Capcom's Dino Crisis 3, an Xbox exclusive, remains the last entry in the series, despite fan demand for a reboot or remake. The release of Exoprimal, a dinosaur-themed multiplayer game, and comments from creator Shinji Mikami seemingly dashed hopes for a Dino Crisis revival.

These PC ports, previously difficult to run on modern systems, are now enhanced for optimal performance. GOG highlights the improvements in their releases:

Dino Crisis (GOG Version):

  • Full Windows 10 and 11 compatibility.
  • Six language localizations (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese).
  • Original, Arrange, and Operation Wipe Out modes.
  • Improved DirectX renderer.
  • Enhanced rendering options (Windowed Mode, VSync, Gamma Correction, Integer Scaling, Anti-Aliasing, and more).
  • Up to 4K (1920p) resolution and 32-bit color depth.

  • Enhanced alpha transparency.
  • Improved game registry settings.

Dino Crisis 2 (GOG Version):

  • Full Windows 10 and 11 compatibility.
  • Two language localizations (English and Japanese).
  • Inclusion of Easy difficulty, Dino Colosseum, and Dino Duel modes.
  • Improved DirectX renderer.
  • Enhanced rendering options (Windowed Mode, VSync, Gamma Correction, Integer Scaling, and Anti-Aliasing, and more).
  • Improved music playback and volume scaling.
  • Improved item rendering and fog effects.

  • Full modern controller support (DualSense, DualShock 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Switch, Logitech F series, and more).

GOG also launched its Dreamlist, a community voting tool to influence future game releases on the platform. This allows players to directly voice their preferences and potentially contribute to the revival of beloved titles.
