Google Play Store to Introduce Optional App Auto-Launch Feature

Ever downloaded an app and forgotten to open it? Google Play Store may soon solve this with a new feature that automatically launches apps after installation.

What’s New?

Android Authority reports that Google Play Store is developing a feature to streamline app access. This option would instantly open apps upon download completion, eliminating the need to locate the app icon or confirm the download status. Once installed, the app appears directly on your screen.

This feature, spotted in an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19, remains unconfirmed and lacks an official release date. Tentatively named App Auto Open, it will be optional, allowing users to enable or disable it based on preference.

How does it function? After an app downloads, a notification banner will display at the top of your screen for about five seconds. Depending on your device settings, it may also vibrate or play a sound, ensuring you notice it even while browsing social media or gaming.

This information is unofficial, and no launch date is confirmed. We’ll keep you updated with any official announcements from Google.
