The Gothic 1 Remake demo has been released on Steam

To celebrate the release of the Gothic 1 Remake demo, "Nyras Prologue," THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled a new trailer. Unlike the original Gothic, where players embody the Nameless Hero, this remake lets you play as Nyras, a prisoner fighting for survival in the same unforgiving world.

Released during the Steam Next Fest, the demo shattered concurrent player records for the entire Gothic series:

The "Nyras Prologue" showcases stunning updated graphics and animations, powered by Unreal Engine 5, and a revamped combat system. While the demo naturally can't fully capture the expansive freedom and deep RPG mechanics of the complete game, it offers a compelling glimpse into what awaits.

Gothic Remake is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and GOG). A release date is yet to be announced.
