Gothic 1 Remake Demo Coming to Steam Next Fest – Featuring New Protagonist Niras

Alkimia Interactive, the developer behind the highly anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, has provided select journalists with early access to a new demo. Originally slated for Gamescom, this demo will soon be available to the public.

This demo acts as a preview, introducing a new protagonist, Niras, rather than the original Nameless Hero. Niras, a fellow prisoner, arrives in the Miners' Valley and interacts with its inhabitants, offering a unique perspective on the game's overarching story.

A previous Gamescom 2024 demo showcased Niras' arrival and initial interactions within the Colony. This expanded demo, soon to be publicly released, will provide a more comprehensive experience of the revamped Gothic world. Both the current demo and the final game represent a near-total rebuild, promising extended gameplay, enhanced orc interactions, and increased immersion. Expect a significantly richer and more engaging experience than the original.

The Gothic 1 Remake demo will debut on Steam during the Steam Next Fest event. It will be freely available from the evening of February 24th to the evening of March 3rd. Following this period, access will be revoked. The full Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for release later this year on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
