The House of the Dead 2: Remake - A Classic Returns in Spring 2025

Get ready for a blast from the past! Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio have announced a complete remake of the iconic 1998 arcade shooter, The House of the Dead 2. Launching Spring 2025 across all major platforms, this remake promises updated visuals, expanded environments, and exciting new gameplay features.

Originally a Sega arcade title, The House of the Dead 2 offered a unique on-rails shooting experience, a refreshing alternative to the then-popular Resident Evil series. This remake will deliver a modernized experience, boasting enhanced graphics, remastered audio, and a revitalized take on classic zombie arcade action.

The recently released announcement trailer showcases the significant visual improvements. Players will once again step into the shoes of a secret agent, battling hordes of undead to prevent a catastrophic outbreak. Beyond the graphical overhaul and remastered soundtrack, The House of the Dead 2: Remake introduces new environments to explore and the option to play either solo or in co-op mode. Additional gameplay modes, including Classic Campaign and Boss Mode, branching pathways, and multiple endings, add significant replayability.

Platforms and Release Date:

Expect The House of the Dead 2: Remake on Nintendo Switch, PC (GOG and Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in Spring 2025. The game will blend the high-octane action, gory effects, and combo counters of the original with modern visuals and an improved user interface.

A Trend of Retro Revivals:

The House of the Dead 2 remake joins a growing trend of retro horror game revivals, following successful remakes of Resident Evil titles and the remastered Clock Tower. Zombie horror fans should eagerly anticipate this and other exciting retro gaming comebacks.
