Becoming a Hollow in the Hollow Era

Starting as a Soul Spirit, you face a crucial decision: evolve into a Shinigami or a Hollow. Opting for the latter requires you to break all the links on your chain, transforming you into a Hollow. Notably, your chain naturally breaks every two minutes, ensuring you'll become a Hollow even if you do nothing.

Warning: While Hollows may seem more intriguing than Shinigami, the path of a Hollow involves extensive grinding and repetitive kills. Aspiring to reach the ranks of Vasto Lorde or Espada demands significant time and effort, making the journey less engaging compared to that of a Shinigami.

Hollow Progression in the Hollow Era

Your journey to becoming a Gillian involves grinding by eliminating other Hollows and consuming their body parts. Reaching level 15 allows you to evolve into a Gillian, and at level 10, you can access the Hueco Mundo dimension via a Garganta gateway, simplifying the process of finding and consuming Hollows.

Keep in mind, as a Hollow, you're a target for both Shinigami and other Hollows, unlike the Soul Reapers (Shinigami), who face fewer threats. For those interested in the Shinigami path, our full Shinigami progression guide is available.

Gillian Form in the Hollow Era

As a Gillian, your mission continues with eliminating Hollows and engaging with Hollow Pillars in Hueco Mundo. Accumulating enough Progression Points will teleport you to your inner world, where you must defeat all Hollows three times to evolve into an Adjucha.

Each session requires you to defeat five Hollows, which are significantly tougher than regular ones. Don't worry about dying; you can retry as many times as needed.

Adjucha Form in the Hollow Era

As an Adjucha, you face a pivotal choice: progress towards becoming a Vasto Lorde or an Arrancar.

Arrancar Progression

To transform into an Arrancar, interact with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo, which appears every 30 to 60 minutes. Upon contact, you'll become an Arrancar, gaining access to Hueco Mundo via a keybind. At level 50, you can pursue your Resurrección, though currently, Arrancars can only use Kendo skills.

Vasto Lorde Progression

To evolve into a Vasto Lorde, continue eliminating and devouring Hollows to earn Progression Points. Be cautious, as dying results in a 1% loss of these points. Many players get stuck at the Adjucha stage due to the grind. To become a Vasto Lorde, you need 800 Progression Points, awarded per kill as follows:

Hollow: 1 Point Gillian: 6 Points Adjucha: 4 Points Vasto Lorde: 8 Points Arrancar: 8 Points Espada: 10 Points

Vasto Lorde Form in the Hollow Era

Evolving into a Vasto Lorde is more challenging than becoming an Arrancar. You must collect 800 race Progression Points and gather all Hollow Items, which have random drop chances. Below is a list of Hollow Items by the creatures that drop them:

Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 HP regeneration), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu regeneration and +1 Speed) Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu) Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Speed), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25% drop chance, +1 Strength), Double Horn (Rare, 10% drop chance, +2 Strength), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%, +3 Strength) Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)

Becoming Espada in the Hollow Era

To evolve into an Espada from the Vasto Lorde path, you must interact with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo, similar to becoming an Arrancar.

To find a Crystal Bush, head to Hueco Mundo, disable Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field in your settings for better visibility, and scan the area from a high vantage point.

How to Get Your Resurrección

After becoming an Arrancar or Espada, your ultimate goal is to obtain your Resurrección. Reach level 50 and speak to Isen, the King of Hueco Mundo, to receive a quest to defeat 50 Arrancars. Completing this quest allows you to use your Resurrección once your Rage Bar is fully charged and pulsating. Fill your Rage Bar by dealing or receiving damage. The default keybind for Resurrección is "Y", and it deactivates when you run out of Reiatsu or Rage.

Hollow Skill Tree

Hollow Strength Node enhances damage with fists and strength moves.

Claw Slash: Slashes targets in front with claws. Rock Throw: Throws debris from the ground in the direction of the pointer. Hollow Slam: Sends a shockwave in a straight line by slamming the ground. Hollow Reiatsu Node boosts maximum Reiatsu and damage from Hollow powers.

Acid Spit: Damages the target with a concentrated bolt of spit. Acid Grab: Grabs and covers the enemy with acid. Acid Slam: Spreads acid on nearby surfaces by slamming the ground. The Hollow Vitality Node increases maximum health.

Gillian Skill Tree

Gillian Strength Node increases damage with fists and strength moves.

Gillian Stomp: Throws a strong punch upwards to lift enemies into the air. Gillian Roar: Stuns foes with a roar. Gillian Reiatsu Node increases maximum Reiatsu and damage from Gillian powers.

Gillian Cero: Generates and unleashes a concentrated cero. Cero Burst: The Cero bursts, dealing damage to nearby creatures. Gillian Vitality Node increases maximum health.

Adjucha Skill Tree

Adjucha Strength Node boosts damage with fists and strength moves.

Claw Slash: Slashes forward with claws. Rock Throw: Throws debris in the direction of the mouse. Hollow Slam: Sends a shockwave in a straight line by slamming the ground with force. Adjucha Slam: After a long windup, slams the ground with the right hand, dealing impressive AoE damage. Rampage: Runs forward for 3 seconds, leaving the right arm behind to scratch the floor. Adjucha Reiatsu Node increases maximum Reiatsu and damage from Adjucha powers.

Acid Spit: Generates a concentrated bolt of spit against the target. Acid Grab: Grabs and covers the enemy with acid. Acid Slam: Slams the ground, spreading acid on nearby surfaces. Hollow Era Tips and Tricks

Playing as a Hollow may seem cooler, but it's less versatile than the Shinigami path. Prepare for extensive grinding, and remember, as a Hollow, you'll be targeted by both Hollows and Shinigami. Use the lockup button to focus on your primary enemy target, especially helpful during combat when the game might be buggy or laggy. Learn how to block enemy attacks early on, as even low-level enemies can deal significant damage, and your health regeneration is slow. Upon death, you'll lose some money, and the walk back to your quest targets can be tedious. Consider investing in bus teleport if you can afford it; it's a worthwhile investment. When collecting Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed initially, regardless of your race, as these are crucial for dealing damage and moving quickly. When lost, press and hold J (default keybind) to use your Reiatsu sense and reveal markers around Karakura.
