Hopetown, a nonlinear RPG from Longdue Games, offers a unique narrative-driven experience. Founded by former employees of ZA/UM, Rockstar Games, and Bungie, the studio has unveiled its debut title, a spiritual successor to the acclaimed *Disco Elysium*. The game plunges players into the role of a journalist waking up in a mining town with a brutal hangover. The mystery begins: unravel the events of the previous night and navigate escalating local tensions, choosing to mediate or inflame the conflict.

Gameplay is heavily dialogue-driven, with player choices profoundly shaping the narrative. Multiple character archetypes are available, each offering distinct dialogue options and approaches to conversation. For instance, interacting with an old woman feeding pigeons allows for varied conversational tones, leading to different outcomes.

Longdue Games is preparing a Kickstarter campaign to fund Hopetown's development, with a page already live on the platform. While a release date remains unannounced, anticipation is high amongst fans of narrative-focused RPGs.

Hopetown isn't alone in its *Disco Elysium* inspiration. Dark Math Games and Summer Eternal are also developing their own psychological RPGs, adding to the growing wave of similar titles.
