Master the Dual Outfit Technique in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered!

This guide details how to combine the benefits of two outfits in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, enhancing your gameplay experience. Note that this is a feature exclusive to the Remastered version.

Remastered Version Required:

The ability to effectively use two outfits simultaneously relies on the Remastered edition's transmog feature, introduced via a recent patch. This allows you to visually wear one outfit while retaining the stats and effects of another.

Outfit Requirements:

This dual-outfit method has limitations. While your primary outfit can be any you choose, your secondary outfit (used for its visual appearance via transmog) must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits from the Frozen Wilds DLC:

  • Banuk Werak Runner
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game Plus only)

Access to the Frozen Wilds DLC is not contingent on completing the main game.

Acquiring the Banuk Werak Outfits:

Banuk Werak Runner:

Locate a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue merchant icon) in the Frozen Wilds DLC area after defeating the introductory machine. Purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit using the resources below:

Resource Normal Cost Ultra Hard Cost
Metal Shards 1000 5000
Desert Glass 10 20
Slagshine Glass 10 20

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept:

Complete the "For the Werak" quest (the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC) to obtain the Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit. The Adept version is acquired through the same quest, but only in New Game Plus. Consider lowering the difficulty if needed.

Combining Outfit Effects:

Here's how to leverage both outfits:

  1. Equip your desired outfit—the one providing the stats you want. Enhance its stats with Weaves if necessary.
  2. Use the transmog feature to apply the visual appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits.

This allows you to retain your chosen outfit's stats while gaining the auto-healing effect of the Banuk Werak outfit. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer significantly faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with an outfit like the Shield Weaver makes you exceptionally resilient.
