Honkai: Nexus Anima CBT Registration Opens by HoYoverse

HoYoverse is inviting players to register for the upcoming Honkai: Nexus Anima Closed Beta Test (CBT). This marks the latest entry in the Honkai series, offering a creature-collecting adventure strategy game that blends elements from multiple genres.

It’s the game’s first closed beta

The Honkai: Nexus Anima CBT is officially called the Nexus Bond Test. Registrations are now open starting August 29th, 2025, at 12:00 UTC+8, and will continue until September 12th, 2025, at 23:59 UTC+8.

Applications are available for PC and iOS devices only—Android is not included this time. Only a limited number of players who pre-register and complete a dedicated questionnaire will be selected. Since the game is still in development, a full data wipe will take place after the beta concludes.

The project was initially teased months ago during the Honkai: Star Rail anniversary concert in May 2025. This new announcement gives the first detailed preview of the game. Check out a first look at Honkai: Nexus Anima below.

What’s the setting?

In Nexus Anima, you play as a dimension-hopping traveler who escapes captivity and begins exploring a fragmented world. Here, bonds are called Nexus, and they once linked opposing forces such as Light and Darkness or Life and Death.

However, these Nexus bonds have shattered, dispersing their essence across the land as Anima. It is these Anima that serve as your companions during both exploration and combat.

Each Anima features a unique theme and personality. You'll encounter straightforward elementals like light, dark, or memory, food-themed bonds aligned with Satiation and Insatiability, and path-based characteristics such as Love, Hate, Regret, Competition, and Peace.

As you progress through the adventure, the mysteries surrounding the fractured Nexus and the protagonist’s past slowly come to light. Two characters, Blade from Honkai: Star Rail and Kiana from Honkai Impact 3rd, are confirmed to appear at launch, linking the new title back to the broader Honkaiverse.
