The upcoming Hunger Games novel, Sunrise on the Reaping, is one of the most eagerly awaited book releases of 2025. It has dominated Amazon's bestseller list for much of the year, climbing into the top five before its official launch. Given the success of previous Hunger Games novels, all adapted into major films, it’s no surprise that Suzanne Collins’ latest work is generating buzz. A movie adaptation of Sunrise on the Reaping is already slated for 2026.

Sunrise on the Reaping hits shelves on Tuesday, March 18. Amazon is offering discounts on hardcover and Kindle editions. Exclusive editions with bonus content are also available at Barnes & Noble and Target.

What Is Sunrise on the Reaping About?

The fifth installment in the Hunger Games series, Sunrise on the Reaping, explores a new chapter in the saga’s timeline. Set 40 years after The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and 24 years before Katniss Everdeen’s story, the novel centers on the Second Quarter Quell, won by Haymitch Abernathy.
