Iconic Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, has recently shared a touching message during his recovery. After being discovered "barely alive" in his hotel room last week, Johnson took to a GoFundMe page, which has successfully raised $174,653 to help cover his medical expenses and bills. In the video, he revealed that he had been in a coma, and expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received.

"I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you," Johnson shared. He was in Atlanta to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation, but after checking into his hotel, he did not appear at the event, prompting concern. His wife, Kim Johnson, called the hotel, and security, along with emergency medical technicians, were able to access his room. They struggled to find a pulse, and Johnson was rushed to the hospital.

"Rumors of my demise, well they weren't exaggerated. It was very close, very close. But I'm still here," Johnson recounted. He credited his wife and son for their quick actions in calling the hotel and security, which ultimately saved his life. After being placed in a coma for five days, Johnson learned about the GoFundMe campaign initiated by his friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, as well as his wife Kim, which further highlighted the outpouring of love and support from the community.

Johnson extended his thanks to the National Alzheimer's Association for their support in flying his family to see him and providing accommodations. He also acknowledged Ted Leonsis, chairman of the Washington Capitals' parent company, for a generous donation of $25,000. Additionally, Johnson expressed gratitude to Bethesda for their public support following the news of his illness. "You say that I'm your friend. I am," he affirmed. "Always will be. Love you guys." He also thanked his fans, both those who donated and those who showed support in other ways. "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere," Johnson declared.

Despite the long road ahead, Johnson remains optimistic about his recovery. "It's going to be a while as I work my way back, but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and having you all hear me then. Cheers."

Johnson's voice acting career extends beyond video games, with roles in various films and television shows. However, his contributions to Bethesda's titles are particularly notable. He most recently voiced Ron Hope in Starfield and has portrayed iconic characters such as Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among others.
