Infinity Nikki Update 1.5 Sparks Outrage, Players Threaten to Uninstall

The much-anticipated release of Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-centric 1.5 update on Steam has been overshadowed by a series of controversies and technical issues. Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure, which transitioned from Epic Game Store exclusivity to Valve's digital platform, was met with excitement that quickly turned to frustration due to a range of problems including game crashes, instability, and unexpected design changes.

Players were particularly vocal about the new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, which require up to 220 pulls to complete due to their 11-piece composition. This significant increase in the number of pieces needed for outfits, without prior notice, has sparked concerns about future monetization strategies and the game's fairness.

Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, further unsettling the community. In response, the Chinese player base initiated a movement on social media platform RedNote, urging a global boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, along with negative reviews and uninstalls across all platforms.

Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized the importance of withholding pulls to influence the game's direction, stating, "Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players." This sentiment resonated widely, leading to a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players voiced their dissatisfaction and warned potential new players to steer clear until their concerns are addressed.

Infold Games responded with an apology letter acknowledging the technical issues and promising improvements. They committed to reverting the Mira Crown event to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day, alongside offering compensation in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. However, the decision to maintain the 11-piece requirement for some five-star outfits continues to be a point of contention.

Despite the quick response from Infold, the community remains divided. Some celebrate the changes as a victory, while others, like Reddit user EdensAsmr, warn that accepting the current 11-piece outfits could set a precedent for future updates, potentially requiring even more resources from players.

The Infinity Nikki 1.5 update is now live, and players can access 100 free pulls and redeem new codes for rewards such as Resonance Crystals and Diamonds. For those exploring the new Sea of Stars area, an interactive map is available to track progress with detailed checklists.
