Insomniac Games, renowned for their creative contributions to the gaming industry, recently had their founder and outgoing president, Ted Price, share insights into a project that never saw the light of day. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price revealed that one of the most cherished yet unrealized projects was "Resistance 4." He explained, "Yeah, I’ll share one. Resistance 4. We did pitch that one and it was a wonderful concept, and it just in terms of timing and market opportunity, didn’t work out." The passion for extending the Resistance series stemmed from its unique alternate history setting where the alien Chimera's story could have taken fascinating turns.

The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters developed by Insomniac, originally followed the studio's success with the Ratchet and Clank franchise. Set in an alternate history where an alien invasion hits the UK in 1951, the series captivated players across three PlayStation 3 titles. Despite the team's enthusiasm, Resistance 4 did not receive the green light, leaving fans and developers alike wondering about the potential paths the Chimera's narrative could have explored.

Ted Price, who has been at the helm of Insomniac for over three decades, announced his retirement earlier this year. He will be succeeded by Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang, who have been named Co-Studio Heads. Under Price's leadership, Insomniac has continued to innovate, with their latest release being the highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, now available on PC. The studio's next project on the horizon is Marvel’s Wolverine, further cementing their reputation for delivering captivating superhero experiences.
