It's crucial to note that while *Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2* is playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the public test server is exclusively accessible on PC. For PC players, accessing this server is a breeze through Steam.

To join, simply navigate to your Steam library, locate *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2*, and you'll find the public test server listed right below the main game as a separate title. Once you've found it, download and install the test server, which will have its own standalone files distinct from the main game.

The *Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2* public test server offers a sneak peek at new content for both PvE and PvP modes, including new weapons and customization options. The PvE mode is the primary focus of updates, featuring a brand-new map, relaxed class restrictions on weapons, and enhancements to online gameplay features. Keep in mind that this content is still in development and subject to change before its official release.

In the realm of online gameplay, the test server introduces improved matchmaking for both PvE and PvP modes, with a focus on team balancing. The PvE system aims to minimize instances of players choosing the same class ending up on the same team, and includes its own prestige leveling system. Meanwhile, the PvP mode offers expanded customization options in the lobby, enriching the multiplayer experience.

If you have mods installed for *Space Marine 2*, they won't function on the public test server. Additionally, while you can create and customize content using the assets available in the test server, these creations won't carry over to the main game. There's no official confirmation yet on whether progress or content from the test server will transfer to the main game, but it's generally not anticipated.
