NBC Universal has unveiled the final trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, showcasing pivotal scenes and introducing both classic and new dinosaurs. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali and follows an extraction team as they navigate the perilous island research facility of the original Jurassic Park, now home to the most formidable dinosaurs left behind. Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and penned by David Koepp, the original Jurassic Park screenwriter, the movie promises thrilling action and suspense.

According to the official synopsis, five years post-Jurassic World Dominion, the global ecology remains largely inhospitable to dinosaurs, relegating them to isolated equatorial zones with climates akin to their ancient habitats. Within this tropical biosphere, three colossal creatures from land, sea, and air possess DNA crucial for a groundbreaking, life-saving drug for humanity.

Academy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operations expert tasked with leading a mission to obtain this vital genetic material. Her operation collides with a civilian family whose boat was capsized by aggressive aquatic dinosaurs, stranding them on a forbidden island once used as a secret Jurassic Park research facility. Amidst a diverse array of dinosaur species, they uncover a sinister, long-hidden secret.

The final trailer highlights several key scenes, including a river raft sequence inspired by Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park novel, which was omitted from the 1993 film but now finds its place in Jurassic World Rebirth. David Koepp, re-immersing himself in Crichton's work, incorporated elements from the novels into the script, noting, "There was a sequence from the first novel that we’d always wanted in the original movie, but didn’t have room for. We were like, ‘Hey, we get to use that now.’"

Can a T-Rex swim? Yes, it turns out.

The trailer also introduces new dinosaurs, including the 'D-Rex,' officially named Distortus Rex. This mutant dinosaur, a blend of a T-Rex and a Star Wars Rancor, was described by director Gareth Edwards as, "It’s kind of like if the T-Rex was designed by H.R. Giger, and then that whole thing had sex with a Rancor."

This is the Distortus Rex, aka the D-Rex. Rancor vibes?

Additionally, the trailer reveals winged Mutadons, a hybrid of a pterosaur and a Raptor, adding to the film's roster of terrifying creatures.

Jurassic Park always has a terrifying raptor scene. This time, there are Mutadons.
