In their statement, Tripwire Interactive acknowledged, "After taking the time to gather and discuss feedback from our recent closed beta, we've realized that we missed the mark." The team emphasized their commitment to delivering a game that both evolves the series and remains true to its roots.

While a new release date hasn't been announced, the game is still slated to launch later in 2025.
