High on Life 2 has just been unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, with a winter release planned for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S — including availability on Game Pass.

The long-awaited sequel to Squanch Games’ irreverent first-person shooter returns to its signature blend of wild humor and over-the-top action.

The original High on Life launched in 2022 to a mix of praise and criticism, particularly due to the involvement of Justin Roiland. Despite the controversy, the game found strong traction on Xbox Game Pass, and last year, rumors surfaced about a potential animated series adaptation.

High on Life 2 continues the story shortly after your victory over the original game’s mischievous space cartel. But peace is not in the cards.

“When a shadow from your past resurfaces and puts a bounty on your sister’s head, your quiet life is blown apart,” reads the official description. “Can you rise to the challenge and take down a galaxy-spanning conspiracy that once again threatens the species you’ve grown to love—humans?”

The announcement highlights an “all-star comedic ensemble” for the game, though full casting details remain under wraps. For more coverage, explore everything revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025.
