Once Human: Unlocking the Wish Machine

Author:Kristen Update:Jan 09,2026

The highly anticipated mobile adaptation of post-apocalyptic survival game Once Human launches on April 23, 2025. Since its original announcement in 2024, the title has consistently ranked among the most wishlisted games in its genre. The Wish Machine stands as a crucial gameplay system, enabling survivors to obtain valuable blueprints for weapons, equipment, and vital supplies within the devastated game world.

How to Unlock the Wish Machine

Unlocking the Wish Machine comes naturally through early-game progression. The system becomes accessible during main story missions when players reach Greywater Camp in the Iron River region. Upon discovery, you'll have options to either relocate the existing machine to your base or construct a new one from gathered materials:

  • Copper Ingots: 25
  • Rusted Parts: 10
  • Metal Scraps: 5
  • Rubber: 3
  • Glass: 5

After collecting these components, access the building menu under Facilities > Function Facility to install the Wish Machine at your base.

The Wish Machine operates using Starchrom currency - 500 for a single draw or 5000 for a ten-draw bundle. Each activation initiates an entertaining whack-a-llama minigame (skippable via the Cutscene button) where your striking accuracy doesn't affect the randomized reward outcome.

Optimizing Your Wish Machine Experience

While straightforward to use, these strategies can help maximize your results:

  • Cost-Benefit Analysis: Compare the Starchrom cost against purchasing blueprints directly from the shop, especially for high-tier items
  • Resource Allocation: Prioritize spending Starchrom on blueprints that complement your preferred playstyle
  • Drop Rate Awareness: Understand that rewards are randomly determined, so obtain specific desired items may require multiple attempts

For enhanced gameplay, Once Human can be experienced on PC through BlueStacks, offering keyboard/mouse controls and expanded screen real estate.
