"MageTrain: Fast-Paced Pixel Roguelike Now on Android"

Tidepool Games has just released a thrilling new game for Android enthusiasts: MageTrain, a fast-paced pixel art 'snakelike' roguelike that echoes the gameplay of Nimble Quest. If you're a fan of Nimble Quest, you'll find MageTrain's mechanics strikingly familiar, as it draws significant inspiration from its predecessor.

What’s MageTrain Like?

MageTrain blends elements of Snake, auto-battlers, and roguelikes into a unique gaming experience. You control a line of heroes that trail behind you, much like a snake, each autonomously attacking as you navigate through an arena. Your primary task is to strategically position your heroes, deciding who leads and who supports, as their abilities vary based on their position in the train.

At launch, MageTrain offers nine heroes, including one who uniquely throws birds. Each hero brings different skills to the table, depending on their role within the group. As you progress, you'll explore eight distinct dungeons, battle against 28 enemy types, and unlock 30 skills to enhance your team. Along the way, you'll collect gold and power-ups to bolster your chances of success.

The roguelike structure ensures that each run is unique, with branching paths and upgrade choices that keep the gameplay fresh and challenging. Similar to games like Slay the Spire or FTL, there are no fixed levels, and you can't save your progress mid-run. A single mistake, whether it's crashing into an obstacle or being overwhelmed by enemies, means starting over from scratch.

It Isn’t Slow-Paced

The excitement of MageTrain lies in the continuous improvement you experience with each run, even when you don't succeed. You'll learn when to play defensively, when to launch an all-out attack, and when to simply hold on for another 30 seconds.

MageTrain is now available on Android and is free to play. Dive into the action by downloading it from the Google Play Store.
