The last major Baldur's Gate III patch entered the stress test stage

Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is undergoing its stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, developers advise a game reinstall for those skipping the test.

Patch 8's headline feature is cross-platform play, uniting PC and console players. Friends across platforms can join, provided they have linked Larian accounts. Remarkably, modded gameplay is also cross-compatible, with caveats: all mods must be available across PC, Mac, and consoles; and the host's mod count shouldn't exceed ten.

Multiplayer receives a significant boost with the addition of split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S, previously unsupported.

Further enhancements in Patch 8 include a highly customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, enriching gameplay diversity. Bug fixes and balancing adjustments are also included, although some issues persist. A comprehensive changelog is available on the game's official website.
