Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset!

Confusion surrounded a potential rank reset in the upcoming Marvel Rivals update. Many live-service games reset ranks at the start of each season, but Marvel Rivals initially planned a mid-season reset on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch.

However, due to significant negative player feedback, NetEase Games reversed course. A blog post confirmed that there will be no rank reset at the mid-season point. Players will retain their current rank and score. To earn new rewards (including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor), players only need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the season's end.

This decision highlights NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns and provides high-ranking players with an extended period to compete at the top level.

Season 1 Mid-Season Update Details:

Beyond the absence of a rank reset, the update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable heroes. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) haven't been detailed yet.
