NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals enthusiasts: a new hero will be introduced every month and a half as the game progresses through its seasons. This was confirmed by the studio's creative director, Guangyun Chen, in an interview with Metro. Chen outlined the team's ambitious post-launch strategy, promising a new playable character for each half-season, which translates to approximately every six weeks.

"Each season, we'll be introducing new seasonal stories, maps, and heroes," Chen explained. "We're dividing each season into two parts, with each part lasting one and a half months. This means that for every half-season, players can look forward to a new hero. Our goal is to continually enhance the game's experience and keep our community engaged and excited."

Marvel Rivals Season 1, titled "Eternal Night Falls," has already set a strong precedent by launching with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second half. These iconic characters from the Marvel universe have been well-received, setting high expectations for future releases.

The game initially launched with a robust roster featuring popular heroes like Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. As the game evolves, fans are eagerly anticipating the addition of other beloved characters. Rumors suggest that Blade may join the lineup in Season 2, with hopes also high for characters like Daredevil, Deadpool, and more X-Men members to make an appearance. With the success Marvel Rivals has achieved so far, NetEase Games shows no signs of slowing down.

In addition to new heroes, Season 1 brought a series of balance changes and gameplay tweaks, with more updates promised for the future.
