Marvel Rivals players will start getting banned on consoles for using the keyboard and mouse

NetEase Games has announced a ban on using keyboard and mouse adapters with Marvel Rivals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The company cites unfair advantages gained from increased control sensitivity and aiming assistance as the reason for this policy violation. Adapters such as XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from keyboard and mouse, are specifically targeted. NetEase's statement clarifies that these devices create an imbalance, particularly in competitive gameplay. The company employs detection tools to identify adapter use with high accuracy, resulting in account suspension upon detection.

A separate issue affecting Marvel Rivals involves a correlation between higher FPS and increased ping. While this may be less noticeable with low base ping, a jump from, say, 90ms to 150ms significantly impacts gameplay. This appears linked to frame rate. Currently, players are advised to wait for a patch and experiment to find an optimal FPS/ping ratio, with some suggesting a surprisingly low 90 FPS as a potential workaround.
