Medabot Survivors: Bullet-Hell Action for Medabots Fans, But Only in Japan (for now)

Medabot Survivors, a new bullet-hell action game based on the popular robot role-playing series, has launched in Japan for iOS and Android devices. This exciting release, spotted by Gematsu, is set to arrive on February 10th, bringing the franchise back to mobile. However, it's currently exclusive to Japan.

For those unfamiliar, Medabots enjoyed a surge in popularity following Pokémon's success, similar to Digimon. While it never achieved the same global recognition as other Japanese franchises, it maintains a strong following in its home country. The choice of the popular "Survivors-like" genre for this new title is unsurprising given its established fanbase in Japan.

A Survivor's Tale

While often associated with Vampire Survivors, the "Survivors-like" genre has a much longer history. Medabot Survivors' release is noteworthy not only for fans but also as an example of the genre's global expansion. The Japanese market boasts numerous excellent games that unfortunately may never see international releases. However, if Medabot Survivors proves successful, there's hope for a future global launch.
