GameSpot's latest trailer confirms the August 28th, 2025 release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The trailer, also appearing on the PlayStation Store, showcases the game's stunning updated visuals.

While Konami hasn't yet officially shared the trailer on their social media, the news provides much-needed confirmation after nearly two years of anticipation. This highly-anticipated remake is definitely arriving this August!

Initially slated for a 2024 release following its announcement at the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023, subsequent trailers at the Xbox Games Showcase and Tokyo Game Show focused on gameplay.

According to the official Metal Gear X (Twitter) account, this modern remake stays true to the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, preserving gameplay and original voice acting—hence the "Delta" designation. As they explained in a May 2023 tweet, "The Delta symbol (Δ) was chosen because its meaning fits the concept of the remake project. Delta means ‘change’ or ‘difference’ without changing structure."

A Surprise Collaboration: Snake vs. Monkey?

Beyond the impressive gameplay shown, the trailer ends with a surprising twist: a playful appearance by an ape from the Ape Escape franchise! An iconic ape leaps from behind a log, teasing players before scampering away. Details remain scarce, but this isn't the only collaboration teased; the trailer concludes with a cryptic "And more...", hinting at further surprises to come.
