Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Prepares for Women's Esports World Cup 2025

Author:Kristen Update:May 25,2025

Following an electrifying conclusion at the 2024 Esports World Cup, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational (MWI) is set to make a triumphant return to Riyadh in July 2025. Last year, Smart Omega Empress stunned the world by defeating the long-reigning champions, Team Vitality, in the Grand Final, ending their three-year, 24-tournament winning streak.

The stakes are even higher this year, with 16 of the world's top all-women MLBB teams vying for supremacy and a record-breaking prize pool. Scheduled from July 15th to 19th, MWI 2025 will commence with a double-elimination Group Stage, where all 16 qualified teams will compete.

The top eight teams will advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket, battling for a share of the $550,000 prize pool, plus an additional $10,000 MVP bonus for the tournament's standout performer.

This year’s qualifiers have been more inclusive than ever, attracting elite talent from nearly every region. Teams such as DreamMax from the MWI 2025 LATAM Qualifiers, CFU Serendipity from Queen Legends Season 1, NAVI MY from the MYSG Qualifier, and Falcons Vega MENA from the Carry1st Africa Cup have already secured their spots. More slots will be filled through ongoing regional events like BOG Season 1, Athena League, and Lady MVP Season 6, with additional qualifiers from China, North America, Mekong, Mongolia, and Türkiye set to conclude in the coming weeks.

MWI 2025 is a key component of the broader Esports World Cup 2025, an event that brings together top clubs from various games to compete in a unique cross-game format. As defending champions, Smart Omega Empress will return to defend their title, but with formidable competition from around the globe, their victory is far from assured.
