Capcom recently held a Spotlight and Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, revealing significant updates for several titles. Key announcements included new details for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, a release date for Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and substantial information on Monster Hunter Wilds.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword – A 2026 Release

Play Set for a 2026 launch, Onimusha: Way of the Sword focuses on compelling characters, a new protagonist, and engaging enemies. The game aims to recreate the historical setting of Kyoto, emphasizing visceral sword combat. The protagonist, wielding an Oni Gauntlet, will battle Genma creatures, offering a challenging yet accessible experience for action game enthusiasts.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny – Remastered in 2025

Play A remastered version of the 2002 classic, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, is slated for release in 2025, bridging the gap until Onimusha: Way of the Sword's arrival.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 – Arkveld Awaits

Play The second Open Beta for Monster Hunter Wilds introduces the flagship monster, Arkveld, in a challenging quest. Other additions include a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, Private Lobbies, and Online Single Player mode. Data from the first Beta is transferable. The Beta runs:

  • Thursday, February 6, 7 PM PT – Sunday, February 9, 6:59 PM PT
  • Thursday, February 13, 7 PM PT – Sunday, February 16, 6:59 PM PT

PlayCharacter data transfers to the full game (February 28 release), but progress does not. Participants receive a special Pendant.

Monster Hunter Wilds – Iceshard Cliffs and New Monsters

The showcase featured a new story trailer showcasing the Iceshard Cliffs and new monsters: Rove (Wudwud), Hirabami - Leviathan, Nerscylla - Temnoceran, and Gore Magala. Further details on Arkveld were also revealed.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 – May 16 Release

Play Capcom Fighting Collection 2 launches May 16, 2025, featuring titles like Capcom vs. SNK (both Millennium Fight 2000 Pro and Mark of the Millennium 2001), Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone (both 1 & 2), Project Justice, and Plasma Sword: Night of Bilstein.

Street Fighter 6 – Mai Arrives February 5
