"Monster Hunter Wilds Sells 8 Million Units in Just 3 Days, Sets Capcom Record"

Author:Kristen Update:May 07,2025

Monster Hunter Wilds has achieved a phenomenal milestone by selling over eight million units in just three days, making it the fastest-selling game in Capcom's history. This impressive feat surpasses the initial shipments of its predecessors, with Monster Hunter World shipping five million copies in 2018 and Monster Hunter Rise shipping four million in 2021.

The success of Monster Hunter Wilds isn't surprising, given its explosive start. Over its opening weekend, the game soared past one million concurrent players on Steam, outstripping Cyberpunk 2077 and securing its place as the 7th most-played game ever on the platform. Additionally, Monster Hunter Wilds played a significant role in helping Steam reach a new record of 40 million concurrent players.

Capcom also shared that the Monster Hunter franchise, which debuted in 2004 on the PlayStation 2, has now sold over 108 million units worldwide as of December 31, 2024.
