Monster Train, Similar to Slay the Spire, Now Available on Android

Monster Train is a fresh roguelite deck-builder now available on Android. It first launched on PC in 2020, later expanding to consoles, followed by iOS in late 2022, and is now finally here on Android. Its gameplay and genre have frequently drawn comparisons to Slay the Spire.

What Does Monster Train Bring to Android?

The game unfolds aboard a massive train hurtling toward the frozen core of hell. Your mission: defend the last burning pyre from celestial invaders.

What sets Monster Train apart is its three vertical lanes. Rather than battling foes on a single battlefield like most games, you manage three simultaneously.

As you progress, you’ll unlock over 250 unique cards across five distinct monster clans. Each clan offers radically different strategies, and you can combine any two at a time to build your ideal deck.

Every clan features ten tiers of upgrades, unlocking more powerful cards the more you use them. Champions serve as key assets and can be upgraded multiple times.

The Android version includes all major updates, such as Wild Mutations and Friends & Foes. Wild Mutations introduces 35 new mutators and fresh difficulty settings. Friends & Foes adds new champions, bosses, cards, and artifacts.

The Last Divinity DLC further enhances replayability with a new clan called the Wurmkin—unlocked after defeating Covenant level 1. The Pact Shards system in this DLC grants enhanced power and introduces the formidable final boss: “The Last Divinity.”

Will You Try It Out?

Monster Train on Android works fully offline—even in airplane mode. The complete game costs $10. In-app purchases are limited mostly to unlocking the full experience. Once purchased through your Google account, your copy syncs across devices.

Cloud saves are supported, so your progress stays safe when switching phones. Just note: controller support is not available. To dive in, head to the Google Play Store.
