Marvel's Moon Knight: Future Appearances Confirmed, Season 2 Unlikely

While a second season of Moon Knight on Disney+ is off the table, Marvel has confirmed Oscar Isaac's return as the titular character in future MCU projects. Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, clarified this in a recent interview with ComicBook.

The shift away from a Season 2 stems from a change in Marvel Television's strategy. Initially, the focus was on establishing characters through standalone series before integrating them into larger MCU films. Ms. Marvel's introduction exemplifies this approach. However, Marvel Television is now adopting a more traditional television model, aiming for annual releases of self-contained shows.

Winderbaum stated, "Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future…moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road.”

While Isaac voiced Moon Knight in Marvel's What If...?, his live-action return remains unannounced.

The MCU's upcoming Disney+ shows include Daredevil: Born Again (March), Ironheart (June), Eyes of Wakanda (August), Marvel Zombies (October), and Wonder Man (December). Recent reports indicated pauses on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc., but Winderbaum hinted at a potential Defenders reunion, bringing back Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist.
